Yup, I said it - thank goodness it's Monday. The weekend was awesome, but I'm glad for the laid back routine of weekly life! Saturday started innocently enough; Kane up early. We cleaned some of the house. I am still working on some serious deep cleaning. and I washed the trim in the kitchen, all the cabinet fronts, scrubbed the garbage can and related cupboard and did the kitchen walls from the counter height down. It's a start! Plus I scrubbed the tub and decided to wait to do the sink and counter until after Brian has shaved next. After Brian got up, after sleeping his night shift off, we just hung out at home - Kane did a lot of calling all over the house saying Dad-deeeeeee, Dad-deeeeeeee, over and over again! :) Better than Mom, mom, mom, mom, that I hear all week! Saturday night, Matt and Dayna came over to babysit while Brian and I went out to a movie - for the first time since we went while I was 8 months pregnant to see Walk the Line! We went to see Live Free or Die Hard - which incidentally is a freaking AWESOME movie. I highly recommend it to anyone who is over the age of 25'ish. If you remember the original Die Hard movies, you definitely don't want to miss this one! It's fabulous and I love how they didn't try to pretend that John McLean was way older now - instead they embraced it and a couple times in the movie the comment was made about how he hasn't done this crap in a long time.
Matt and Dayna are awesome babysitters, they bathed Kane and got him to bed ON TIME!! And without any fuss. Kane loves his Uncle Matthew more than anything I think and probably was super extra well behaved knowing that Uncle Matthew is a newbie. hahahaha!!
Saturday night/Sunday morning we were awakened by frantic door bell ringing, after shaking the sleep out of our eyes and briefly having bad thoughts run through our heads about teh recent house fire next door - we get to teh door to find my parents standing there! at 3:00am! Apparently they were planning on buying a hummer (H3) and left home at dinnertime.
Sunday morning, they left about 11:00am to go pick up the truck and then were back at our place about 3:00 to show it off. We went to Costco, had dinner at the Keg and then they were back on the road. Very quick trip. Kane loved seeing them though; regardless of how short. Mom is goign to be back in two weeks with Serena and the kids - Kane is goign to love that.
So as you can see our weekend was crazy crazy crazy!! SO hence, thank goodness for Monday. At work, relaxing as much as I can and looking forward to spending some serious time in front of my scrap table after Kane goes to bed tonight. :)
